Who we are

Andrew Staite
Managing Director

Andrew has more than 15 years’ experience in executive search and selection. He spent ten years with Morgan & Banks/Hudson, resigning his position of Managing Director to establish SHK. Andrew commenced his career as a lawyer.

Andrew recruits senior executive assignments. He maintains a long held executive search and selection specialisation in the fields of communication, corporate affairs and human resources.

Andrew holds Arts and Law degrees from the University of Melbourne, supported by post-graduate study within the University of Melbourne Masters of Commerce (HR) programme. 



Luke Henningsen
Director

Luke has consulted in executive search since 1996. His career was developed initially as a lawyer and subsequently within banking. Prior to founding SHK, Luke was Executive GM A/NZ for Chandler Macleod Ltd. He also established the Melbourne office of boutique Investment Banking search firm, Jon Michel Executive Search.

At SHK Luke recruits Senior Executive level assignments across a wide range of industry sectors including Mining, Financial Services, IT&T, Clean Technology and within early and expansion stage Venture Capital/Private Equity Funded businesses. In addition to CEO, COO, Executive Director and General Manager level positions, Luke has a strong track record in executing search and selection assignments for senior technical specialists and difficult to find experts.

Luke holds Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Melbourne, supported by post-graduate study within the Macquarie University Masters of Applied Finance and the Melbourne Business School MBA programmes. Luke is a member of the Australian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. 



Dalia Klein
Director

Dalia has more than 15 years' experience in executive search and selection including 11 years with Morgan & Banks/Hudson. Before entering recruitment, Dalia worked as a Chartered Accountant for Grant Thornton. Prior to founding SHK, Dalia was Senior Manager of Hudson’s Marketing & Communication practice.

Dalia maintains a long held executive search and selection specialisation in marketing, product and strategy.

Dalia holds a Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and completed the post graduate Professional Year program with the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.



Justin Bender
Director

Justin has more than twenty years’ finance and accounting experience. In 2006, Justin was appointed Chief Financial Officer with a leading Australian law firm. Prior to this, he was employed as Financial Controller (Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia) for the global, high value management-consulting firm, A. T. Kearney. At that time, he lead international finance teams covering six countries across Asia Pacific.

Justin has been involved as a focus session leader for the Chartered Accountants Program and has held volunteer finance roles in the not-for-profit sector before settling in Melbourne.

Justin is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Newcastle.



Alan Simpson
Head of Outplacement

Alan is one of Australia’s leading experts in career transition and outplacement with over 20 years’ experience in the field. Prior to joining SHK, Alan managed Australia’s largest outplacement consultancy and during this time directed many of the country’s largest restructuring and downsizing projects. He is also highly skilled at program delivery and has successfully assisted over one thousand executives with their career transitions.

Alan’s early career was with Shell where he held various senior petrochemical marketing roles. He then appointed to a role as Director of HR for a major US graphics company.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts (honours) from Monash University and has a wide variety of interests including classic cars, wine, antiquarian books, travel and military history.



Tim Morden
Head of Accounting & Finance

Tim has eight years’ executive recruitment experience, specialising in the disciplines of accounting and finance. Prior to the founding of SHK, Tim was employed by one of the world’s largest executive recruitment firms where he won numerous awards for high performance and service delivery.

Tim has fostered strong industry networks and excellent working relationships with clients and candidates alike. Tim has strong industry networks and proven success in the placement of CFO’s and their direct reports including specialist areas such as tax, treasury, audit, risk, pricing, M&A, and strategy.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.



Corey Nixon
Head of Technology

Corey has more than 15 years’ Information Technology and Project Resourcing search and selection experience. Prior to joining SHK, Corey was employed for 12 years by Australia’s largest Australian owned technology and management consultancy.

Corey has worked within a number of industry sectors including Telecommunications, Banking and Finance, Energy and Resources and FMCG. He has successfully undertaken assignments with companies such as Telstra, ANZ Bank, Tabcorp, Sensis, Truenergy, Toll and Australia Post.



Caroline Arnoul
Principal Consultant

Caroline has more than 20 years’ experience in the marketing and media industries including time spent in the tertiary education sector at The University of South Australia, and commercial sales and strategy experience gained at Pacific Magazines (Seven Media Group), ACP Magazines and in running her own media business (Arnoul Media Services).

At the University of South Australia, Caroline worked first as Deputy Director then Acting Director, Marketing in the Marketing and Development Unit, giving her a unique understanding of the skills required for senior marketing and management roles within University and government environments. Prior to joining SHK, Caroline was Strategy Director at Pacific Magazines which included responsibility for the management of Pacific’s key and corporate accounts in Victoria.

Caroline works across the marketing practice with a specialisation in Education and Media/Advertising roles.

Caroline holds an MBA from Southern Cross University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from the University of New South Wales.



Jesse Bilkey
Principal Consultant

Jesse specialises in sourcing interim finance executives for ASX listed organisations, global corporations and the government sector.

Prior to joining SHK, Jesse established and ran a successful start up business concurrently with his post graduate studies. With a proven eye for talent and a deep understanding of Finance, Jesse has an established network of finance professionals.

Jesse holds a Masters in Applied Commerce from The University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Journalism & Law (Minor) from La Trobe University.



Mike Brissenden
Principal Consultant, Outplacement

Mike has worked in the Career Management and Outplacement field in Sydney for over seven years. Before joining SHK, Mike worked as NSW State Manager for a leading employee assistance provider. Prior to this, Mike worked for Hudson as its NSW Practice Leader (Outplacement & Career Management).

Mike has been involved with many high profile and large scale change projects with clients in the financial and professional services, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, healthcare and industrial sectors.



Helen Cassidy
Principal Consultant

Helen has a strong track record recruiting within the financial services sector in Australia with a particular focus on the placement of senior specialist and executive level roles in the superannuation and insurance industries. She works with a number of the leading global and domestic brands managing a combination of contract and permanent assignments. Helen’s reputation has been built on her ability to provide well founded advice, with a deep understanding of the industry sectors and the challenges facing employees and organisations.

Helen is a member of the Victorian Management Committee for Women in Super, a not-for-profit association that provides networking opportunities for women in the superannuation and financial services industries, and lobbies to improve women’s access to superannuation.

Helen graduated with a BA Hons degree (Marketing major) from Strathclyde University in Scotland and has recently commenced studying a Diploma in HR Management.



Tracey Curro
Head of Communication & Digital
 
Tracey Curro is a former 60 Minutes reporter, an Al Gore Climate Change Ambassador, and a Queensland University of Technology Outstanding Alumnus with over two decades of experience in communication and media.  Prior to joining SHK in February 2010, she had enjoyed a distinguished career as a journalist on flagship news and public affairs programs. 
 
From 2006 to 2008, Tracey drove the development of brand, corporate positioning and social marketing for the newly formed Sustainability Victoria in her capacity as Director of Communications.

Tracey leads the Communication & Digital practice at SHK.  Tracey’s network spans multiple sectors including banking and finance, sustainability and environment, health, government and media.
 
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Business (Communication) from the Queensland University of Technology.  She is a graduate of the Institute of Strategic Leadership, New Zealand.



Penny Edmondson
Co-Head Engagement Services

Penny has more than 15 years’ experience helping organisations to more effectively engage with consumers and employees. Her experience has been gained across a wide range of sectors both in London and Australia. In Australia she has worked with BHP Billiton, Ansett, Minter Ellison, Beaurepaires and Mt Buller, and in London with Betfair.com, AutoPlanet, Carnival Group (Swan Hellenic cruises), Totaljobs.com and 4Less Group (currency exchange).



Elin Gill
Principal Consultant

Elin has more than 20 years’ corporate experience working within a variety of industries ranging from Advertising, Chartered Accountancy and Hospitality to IT Recruitment. Elin has recruited since 2001, working for M&T Resources, a division of the SMS Management and Technology Group. Elin’s expertise lies within building and managing client relationships, business development, sourcing of senior technology resources and candidate and contractor care.

As part of the Technology Practice of SHK, Elin focuses on contract engagements in the areas of project and program delivery, change management as well as business and systems analysis.



Hugh Grover
Principal Consultant

Since graduating from Bond University, Hugh has exclusively worked in Executive Contracting where he specialises in the recruitment of Marketing and Communication positions. Hugh has a deep understanding of the marketing and communication disciplines with broad corporate knowledge across a wide array of sectors and businesses.

Hugh holds a Bachelor of Communications Business (Marketing and Advertising) from Bond University.



Virginia Henningsen (nee Keeghan)
Senior Psychologist

Virginia is a registered psychologist who has worked as an assessment and development based psychologist within organisational settings in Melbourne and Sydney for over 10 years.

Before SHK, she was a senior psychologist for PDI, a leading global organisational psychology firm, where she gained broad industry experience managing assessment and development programs for small emerging enterprises to the top 100 Australian companies and Fortune 500 Global corporations in finance, banking, manufacturing, advertising, education, utilities, FMCG, automotive, professional services, retail, IT & T and health.

Earlier in her career, Virginia worked as a Human Resources Manager and was an Executive Recruitment Consultant for 4 years.

Virginia holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology, both gained from La Trobe University, Melbourne. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is registered as a full psychologist with the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria.
 

 

Jeff Hore
Head of Executive Search

Jeff has 14 years’ experience in executive search and selection. He consults to a range of organisations including ASX listed, global multinationals and privately held businesses, and handling Senior Executive level assignments across a wide range of industry sectors including Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, Education, Property and Construction.

Prior to joining SHK Jeff ran his own executive search business for ten years and worked in senior consulting roles at Morgan & Banks. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Prior to his career in executive search, Jeff held senior finance and general management roles at Deloitte, Whitbread PLC and the Fosters Brewing Group. He has also completed senior management courses at both the London Business School and Australian Graduate School of Management.

Jeff has consulted extensively with organisations to develop and refine organisational structure as well as attracting and retaining senior executive talent.



Zachary Littlefield
Principal Consultant

Zachary specialises in sourcing senior candidates in the areas of projects and technology, with an emphasis on leadership roles that require business and commercial acumen.

Prior to his career in recruitment, Zachary worked across the United States, Mexico, and Australia for a range of organisations within a project/program management consulting capacity.

Zachary holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with concentrations in Consulting and Marketing from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.



Rachel Morton
Principal Consultant

Rachel has more than eight years' executive recruitment experience specialising in the discipline of Accounting & Finance. She joined SHK after working with two globally recognised recruitment firms in the UK.

As one of the highest performers within her previous employers, Rachel offers extensive experience within the executive recruitment industry and an outstanding track record of success in the permanent and contract consulting markets. She has worked with finance executives in many leading international organisations across diverse industry sectors, assisting them with their most critical resourcing requirements.

Rachel is passionate about recruitment and focused on building meaningful relationship with her candidates and clients.

Rachel has completed a Bachelor of Career Management from the University of Lancashire.



Laura Nord-Thomson
Principal Consultant, Outplacement

Laura has more than twelve years’ experience in human resource consulting and management in Australia and the UK. Laura has held senior leadership roles with two major global recruitment services groups, with responsibility for account management, operations and business management. As senior client partner in London with a national Human Resource Management consultancy, Laura delivered major client projects spanning the employment lifecycle from talent acquisition, management and development through to career transition.

Laura’s industry experience, spans both in-house and consulting roles in a wide variety of sectors, across all business functions from middle manager to executive level. Specialist expertise includes career coaching, executive recruitment and talent management strategy. Laura has worked with a wide variety of clients and candidates with a particular emphasis on middle management and senior executives. She is an experienced coach and mentor and has enjoyed success in transforming people’s careers.

Laura holds post graduate qualifications in Human Resources and Management and originally qualified as a General Nurse.



Kath Shaw
Principal Consultant, Career Transition & Outplacement 

Kath has more than seventeen years’ experience in senior professional, corporate sponsorship and operational capacities. A founding member of SHK, Kath is responsible for the delivery of Outplacement and Career transition programs to senior executives.  She has experience with many large scale change projects across a variety of sectors and delivers programs to assist executives with their career transitions.

Kath was previously responsible for general office operations at SHK including technology, HR, supplier relationships, event management, and coordinating the development and implementation of business improvement projects. Kath developed SHK’s quality management system gaining the business ISO 9001:2008 accreditation and ensured ongoing compliance across all areas of the business.

Prior to the founding of SHK, Kath was employed by one of the world’s largest investment banks, a State Government ministry and an international executive recruitment firm. She has also been lauded for her role to manage the judging process for two of Australia’s most highly regarded business awards programs.

Kath holds a Master of Business Administration (Exec) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University.



Nicola Spooner
Principal Consultant

Nicola has over twelve years experience recruiting across the Sydney and UK markets and specialises in the recruitment of HR professionals. Prior to joining SHK, Nicola was a Senior Manager for a leading global recruitment firm and managed the HR recruitment team in Sydney.

Nicola holds a BA (hons) in Business from The University of Hull.



Suzanne Walker
Co-Head Engagement Services

Suzanne has close to 20 years’ experience in understanding and influencing employee behaviour and attitudes in change environments. Suzanne has a strategic communication background and her past clients include Telstra, BHP Billiton, NAB, Shell, Coles Group, Centrelink, CSC, the Environmental Protection Authority (Victoria), The Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (Victoria), The Cancer Council (Victoria), The Department of Human Services (Victoria) and Ansett.

 

Jade Farrugia
Corporate Receptionist

Jade has more than five years' experience in customer service, support and bookkeeping roles.  Jade's previous employers include an electrical contracting organisation and hospitality and tourism organisations.

At SHK, Jade manages the front office and Executive Centre areas and provides outstanding customer service and support to SHK clients and candidates.



Roshini Subramaniam
Research Administrator

Roshini has more than six years' experience in administration roles and office management. Prior to joining SHK, Roshini’s employers included an engineering company, a recruitment agency and a large IT company where she provided sales and administrative support.

Roshini holds a Bachelor of Computing (Hons) from University of Geenwich, UK.

 

Sam Darcy
Operations Manager

Sam has a long record of Facilities and Office Management Roles in the Head Office of large organisations including Cengage Publishing, The Just Group and Village Roadshow. 

Overseas her roles included Graduate Recruitment for BOC Gases and the start up Franchise Business for Pertemps Recruitment, working for the Ministry of Defense in Germany and operations within the data and voice industry.
