What You Can ExpectSHK employs some of the industry's most highly regarded Executive Contracting Recruitment Consultants. They understand the market for executive contractors. They spend much of their time selling the services of their pool of highly skilled executive contractors to organisations. Having an in-depth understanding of the preferences, capabilities and availabilities of their executive contractors is critical to their success. If we believe we can assist you to secure contracting assignments, we'll invite you to undertake a Career Review, before joining us for an interview. At the interview, we'll seek to gain a clear understanding of your skills and knowledge. We'll also want to know what your availability is to undertake assignments and to discuss at what level we should pitch you to the market. Typically, we don't fix a fee for your services, preferring to price the requirements of contract assignments. Once we have interviewed you, we will ask your permission to conduct some reference checking to validate your skills, experience and previous employment performance. We endeavour to conduct reference checking shortly after we've interviewed you, because on most occasions, when we identify a suitable assignment, time is of the essence. A day or more spent chasing referees will often be the difference between securing and missing out on an assignment. For this reason, we also ask that you keep us fully informed of your availability and contact details. When we identify suitable opportunities, we will contact you. We will inform you of the requirements of the assignment, its expected duration and the hourly or daily rate offered. If you are completely comfortable with what we have explained, we will refer your details to the organisation where the opportunity exists. Usually you'll be interviewed by the organisation. This will give you an opportunity to gain greater insight into the deliverables of the assignment. Most organisations will then quickly make a decision and want you to commence work soon thereafter. SHK will confirm in a letter to you the details of the assignment, including the deliverables, fee for your services and the anticipated duration of the assignment. This letter will also include payment details and a time sheet. You will be required to complete a time sheet at the end of each week, sign it and ask the person within the organisation to whom you are accountable to also sign. You must then fax the completed timesheet to SHK. A failure to promptly send in a time sheet may delay payment to you. Payment for your services will be made on a monthly basis in line with executive remuneration standards. It is expected that you will see any assignment you undertake through to completion. Withdrawing part way through an assignment that you have started can seriously damage your industry reputation. It is important to be aware that there is a risk with any executive contracting assignment that it may end at any point with extremely limited notice. While this occurs only rarely (usually in instances where an organisation suddenly changes its strategic direction) it is nevertheless important to keep in mind. In this situation, SHK will work exceptionally hard to endeavour to find your next assignment. While on assignment, we will remain in regular contact with you. We will also remain in contact with the party that has engaged our services to ensure that the assignment is progressing in line with their expectations. We will provide you with any feedback we receive. Usually, the most difficult assignment for us to secure on your behalf is the first one. Once you have undertaken an assignment through us, it becomes significantly easier for us to promote your services to other organisations. |
