About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer / Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Finance / Deputy Direct CFO leads Monash Health’s financial control, cash and capital management, payroll, and financial systems and analytics functions. This critical leadership role is accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, management of cash and capital plans, and delivery of high-quality analysis to inform executive and Board decision-making. It will drive systems optimisation, strengthen governance and embed financial strategies that enable long-term organisational sustainability. Leading a high-performing team of around 110, the Director will foster a culture of accountability, capability and continuous improvement. Acting as a trusted advisor to the CFO and regularly deputising in their absence, the role offers significant exposure to executive and Board decision-making, capital strategy and organisational transformation.
About You
Refreshingly open to candidates looking to make a move into health from other sectors, you are an accomplished finance leader with experience in large, complex organisations, whether publicly funded or from the broader corporate sector. CA or CPA qualified, you bring strong technical expertise, commercial acumen and a balance of strategic insight with operational precision. You have led high-performing teams through transformation and can leverage technology and analytics to drive performance and innovation. Tier One systems experience, particularly Oracle Fusion, is a plus. Known for your authenticity, transparency and collaborative approach, you are a trusted advisor who thrives in dynamic environments and can navigate complexity with confidence and humility.
