Keep children safe from violence
Build on a legacy
Iconic children’s charity
About the organisation
Born out of the tragedy in 1996 at the historical Port Arthur site in Tasmania, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation was established to keep children safe from violence whether that may occur in families, the community or in the digital environment. With a vision that every child will live in a safe and supportive environment, the Foundation cares for children who have experienced or witnessed serious violence, runs evidence-based programs that prevent violence, and plays an important advocacy role as a voice for children's safety and wellbeing.
