About the organisation
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) plays a critical role in ensuring all Victorians are connected to the democratic process. The VEC conducts parliamentary, local government, and certain statutory elections, and maintains the Victorian register of electors. About the role
The CIO is responsible for the design and implementation of a robust technology strategy. This position leads a large inhouse team encompassing software development, core systems infrastructure and IT security teams. With responsibility for a multi-million-dollar operational budget, the CIO will ensure that ‘best of breed’ technology solutions are used to meet important organisational goals. As a member of the Executive Management Group, the CIO will provide strategic and technical leadership to the organisation. The position involves driving policy at an executive level, as well as having responsibility for creating a close-knit technology team.
With a background in the effective management of high volume, mission-critical technology environments you call upon well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and a strong appreciation of multiple software development methodologies, information security practices and architectural governance frameworks.
