About the role
The Chief of Staff (COS) is a senior role with a broad mandate to provide strategic support to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to implement the Strategic and Business plans of TAFE Gippsland and to strengthen the governance and reporting framework of the Institute. Reporting to the CEO, the position will liaise closely with the ELT to support initiatives designed to improve organisation performance and drive alignment, collaboration and compliance. Highly mobile with a flexible brief, the role will work across campuses with the CEO assisting in influencing student and community outcomes in the Gippsland region.
You are a highly capable professional with a nuanced understanding of how complex service organisations operate and improve. Ideally with tertiary qualifications and specialist knowledge of the TAFE or broader education sector, statutory authorities, government or similar, you aspire to executive level influence. Known for your people skills and organisational nous, you readily build and leverage effective working relationships and have extensive experience influencing and providing advice to key stakeholders, with confidence and discretion. Known for your excellent written and verbal communications, ‘cut through’ abilities and quick grasp of context , you are detail oriented – while never losing sight of the big picture. Practical, energetic and emotionally intelligent, you lead through others, enabling people and teams to deliver optimal performance.
