Important state-wide health service
Key clinical operational leadership position
About the organisation
Forensicare is the state-wide provider of forensic mental health services across Victoria. As the only agency in the state that delivers specialist and tailored clinical forensic mental health services spanning all areas of the mental health and criminal justice sectors, Forensicare has a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. In addition, Forensicare operates a comprehensive research program through Swinburne University of Technology.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, in this newly created position the Chief Operating Officer will provide leadership for the ongoing delivery of the organisation’s core clinical forensic mental health services. This includes leading an integrated clinical services system and operationalising a new model of care, which will enable the provision of reliable, timely, safe and recovery-oriented, person-centred care. Playing a key role in positioning Forensicare to meet current and future growth and changes arising from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System, the appointee will be a key driver of a long-term culture enhancement program, and shape operations and manage change to realise the benefits of an anticipated major capital development. Critical to success in this position is an outward focus, creating links to the broader mental health system. As a member of the executive team, the Chief Operating Officer will participate actively in the leadership across the organisation.
You are a highly regarded health care sector operational leader with deep experience running and leading services. Presenting with either a clinical or non-clinical background, you are a ‘doer’ and adept at steering complex organisational change, including embedding models of care. You are driven, energetic and resilient, and inspire engaged, energised and collaborative teams. Underpinning your well-honed abilities in managing and nurturing a broad range of stakeholders are your strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. Harness your operational expertise, and deep commitment to recovery-oriented and person-centred care, to shape and grow the clinical services of this critical state-wide service.
