About the organisation
The Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC) is established by the Public Administration Act 2004. The Commissioner Adam Fennessy leads the VPSC to ensure it delivers its mandate: to strengthen the efficiency, effectiveness and capability of the public sector in order to meet existing and emerging needs and deliver high quality services and to maintain, and advocate for, public sector professionalism and integrity.
About the role
Working closely with the Commissioner and oversighting critical whole of Commission projects, the Deputy Commissioner/Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead key operational and corporate elements of the VPSC. Priorities include ensuring the VPSC delivers on its strategic plan and builds on opportunities to ensure public sector responsiveness in the post Covid setting. The Deputy Commissioner/COO will deliver systems to ensure a high level of transparency and accountability with respect to the initiatives led by the Commission in Victoria.
You bring a high level of credibility drawn from a public sector- focussed career. You are known for your influence and effective communications and delivery in complex contexts, including experience in project management. People oriented, you relish the opportunity to make a significant impact, while ensuring the VPSC remains nimble and responsive. A trusted senior executive, you leverage deep relationships and confidently advise Secretaries and Ministers on complex, sensitive issues. You inspire others, thrive when collaborating and are excited to contribute to thought leadership, towards ensuring the Victorian remains the benchmark of public service.
