About the role
In this newly created role, the Director, Business Development will
lead the translation of world-leading multi-disciplinary research grown out of Monash University’s Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Law faculties. Reporting to, and working closely with, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise and Engagement) and Senior Vice President, this highly visible position will develop a wide range of new collaborative, commercial and translational research opportunities with industry, government and innovation networks in Australia and globally. Critical to success in this role is growing research funding from diverse sources and increasing multi-faceted collaboration with business, industry and other organisations. Leveraging a deep knowledge of best practice, the appointee will inspire others and generate momentum, build strong relationships to lead the delivery of key strategies.
About you
As an experienced Business Development Director, you have an impressive track record in a multi-layered environment and demonstrate well-honed key and strategic account management capabilities. Adept at driving collaborations, building relationships (external and internal) and identifying opportunities, you are accomplished in working with a range of partners, including government, industry, universities, other institutions, agencies and funding bodies. You have proven ability to navigate complex systems and drive multiple partnership approaches and collaborations. As a confident communicator with a high EQ and outstanding interpersonal skills, you are adept at negotiating and influencing decision making at a senior level to generate buy-in and commitment to a change agenda.
