The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) ensures Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions, creating more jobs for more people, building thriving places and regions and nurturing inclusive communities to benefit all Victorians. The Department supports six ministers and ten portfolios including: Jobs, Innovation & Trade; Tourism, Sport & Major Events; Racing; Creative Industries; Priority Precincts; Suburban Development; Small Business; Regional Development; Agriculture; and Resources.
The two Directors, Communications and Media each lead a comprehensive strategic communications and media service for the Department. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer and working closely with members of the Executive Board, the Directors are accountable for leading high performing teams and providing strategic communications analysis, strategies and advice across a number of portfolios. Building trusted advisory relationships and developing group capability in strategic communication and stakeholder relations will be central to success.
Tertiary qualified, you are a communication professional with deeply held senior strategy and significant team leadership experience. Your broad communications background, gained in both private sector and government contexts, with a focus on excellence and innovation. You have led multi-disciplined teams to deliver high-quality strategy and content that captures the attention of different audiences. You are versatile, resilient and have proven abilities in managing multiple issues in fluid environments. You are valued for your integrity, exceptional judgment, robust intellect, excellence in practical communication skills, and delivery in fast-paced environments.
