About the organisation
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) is focused on growing Victoria’s economy through job creation, building thriving places and regions, and supporting inclusive communities. The Financial and Property Services branch within Corporate Services at DJPR is responsible for managing the Department’s financial accounting and internal control operations, systems and property services and delivers innovation in financial management practices, processes and systems, and strategic and operational property services to senior management and Ministers.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CFO (as Deputy) the Director of Financial Services is a key leadership role that collaborates extensively with senior stakeholders for the effective and efficient delivery of user-focussed operational financial services to the DJPR portfolio entities. Following the recent implementation of Oracle Cloud, the role will drive value and innovation in the use of the system, improving financial business processes and lifting the performance of the finance team. The Director will provide oversight and strategic direction to teams including Financial Assurance and Accounting; Department Reporting and Financial Operations. Key is the engagement of stakeholders, mentoring of the team and development of solutions in a fast-moving, service-focussed, complex, change environment.
A CA/CPA qualified senior finance leader with a proven ability to lead large teams through extensive change and drive financial system changes and manage significant business process improvement projects is needed. You will have gained experience in complex, dynamic and ambiguous change environments – either in the public sector, for-purpose organisations or large corporates. You will have demonstrated flexibility and resilience, an ability to empower your people and lift performance through values-based leadership, collaborate widely to find solutions, plan effectively and build strong influential relationships. Oracle Cloud exposure is ideal or similar ERP.
