The Suburban Rail Loop is a city and state-shaping project that will transform Victoria’s public transport system, connecting Melbourne’s suburbs and creating opportunities in great places. The 90-kilometre Suburban Rail Loop will link every major rail line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line via the airport – better connecting Victorians and triggering investment and renewal in the neighbourhoods associated with new stations. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is responsible for all aspects of the project, including planning and development of the reference design, investment case, site investigations, stakeholder engagement, planning approvals and procurement, through to precinct planning, construction delivery and project commissioning.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture, the primary purpose of the Director, People and Culture role is to deliver a high-impact people strategy that will foster an aspirational culture and outstanding people experience for all employees of SRLA. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, the Director, People and Culture will deliver high-quality, strategic advice on all people-related matters, and play a critical leadership role within the people and culture function. Critical to success in this role will be the appointee’s ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels within SRLA, allowing people and culture to be recognised as a true business partner, providing expert advice and enabling a high-performing culture.
About you
You have extensive experience providing strategic advice and strong leadership within people and culture functions, preferably within a large and complex infrastructure delivery project or program. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation, where you inspire and motivate people and effectively lead change. A strong understanding of the government delivery environment and commitment to the principles, legislative requirements and management practices of public service means you are able to navigate the complexities that come with working in this sector. Play a significant role in the development of a unique and high-performing culture to enable outstanding results for Victoria’s multi-billion infrastructure delivery programme.
