About the role
The Director Private Partnerships is responsible for leading the development of the strategy and approach for private market housing purchases worth nearly $1B on behalf of Homes Victoria, including determining the investment criteria and approach to effectively engaging with private sector partners. The Director Private Partnerships will translate strategic directions into successful housing development project delivery, bringing commercial professionalism and a focus on achieving client-oriented and value for money outcomes. As a senior executive within Homes Victoria, the Director Private Partnerships will also coordinate people management, business planning, budget management and reporting tasks.
Tertiary qualified in property development, construction or a related field, you have extensive executive-level experience in either the private or public sectors leading and managing high-performing property acquisition teams. You are a highly skilled negotiator with the ability to build strong client-centric relationships, able to deliver commercial outcomes by promoting harmony, building trust and communicating in a transparent manner. An authentic leader, you inspire a sense of purpose, and provide context by clearly outlining organisational objectives and overall expectations. Your ability to focus on key outcomes in fast-paced, dynamic environments is essential. Detailed knowledge, or a strong working relationship within, the Victorian Public Service, particularly with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (and its antecedents), Department of Treasury and Finance and the Department of Environment, Water and Planning will be viewed favourably. As an experienced property industry leader, you are energised by the chance to play a key role in this once-in-a-generation social housing investment program, and to make a difference for all Victorians.
