About the organisation
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) ensures Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions, creating more jobs for more people, building thriving places and regions and nurturing inclusive communities to benefit all Victorians. The Delivery Group supports the effective and efficient delivery of high priority departmental projects and grant programs, critical to the Victorian community, including a focus on economic recovery and jobs growth to address the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
About the role
The Directors will provide leadership and strategic direction to teams to support and drive efficient and timely project delivery, through a range of functions, including the identification of better practice, the development of guidance resources and tools, and by providing direct delivery support and resources towards achieving whole-of-Department high quality outcomes. A key part of the leadership team, the Directors will contribute to the Group’s overall strategic direction, ensuring operations are aligned with departmental priorities and providing leadership on key initiatives and projects.
With experience in fast-paced delivery contexts in the public sector or similar complex industries, you have a practical bent and delight in delivering from concept and embedding delivery processes into organisation-wide policies and practice. An adaptive team leader and effective stakeholder manager, your enthusiasm for the benefits of best practice, combined with a focus on outcomes and people, enables teams to be high performing, even under significant pressure. You thrive in change and are energised by the challenge and potential of assisting economic recovery to benefit the state.
