About the role
Leading a team of four, the Director Strategic Communications will provide broad based communication leadership to every aspect of VCAT's ambitious service transformation and daily business. Reporting to the new Executive Director Experience, Strategy & Transformation, and working closely with the CEO as part of the leadership team, this role will bring the Experience Strategy & Transformation division to life. With service principles based on human centred design, you will lead the strategic direction and narrative for internal and external users and media. This involves supporting information needs through service and communications channels, including the website and new digital tools and enablers.
You are a senior communications professional with deep expertise within government or associated agencies, with proven advisory and senior stakeholder management skills. You demonstrate exceptional judgement across highly nuanced stakeholder dynamic, the ability to manage in a complex environment and a collaborative leadership style, inspiring and influencing others through your enthusiasm and delivery. Compelling writing skills and an innovative approach to engagement are complemented by your ability to coach and mentor your team in this career defining role.
