About the role
As CEO, you will lead EPA’s strategic direction and operational performance in a highly visible and accountable setting. Reporting to the governing Board, the CEO is entrusted with shaping a modern, agile regulator that is proactive, transparent and deeply engaged with the community. The CEO is accountable for a science led approach to regulatory decisions and influences environmental outcomes at scale—overseeing a significant workforce and managing a substantial budget—while championing innovation, integrity and public value.
About you
You are a courageous leader with senior executive experience in complex regulatory or public sector environments. You bring a deep understanding of environment protection, a collaborative mindset, and a proven ability to lead in complex contexts. You are well-credentialed, with tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, believe in an evidence-based approach and ideally have experience reporting directly to an independent governing board or similar. You inspire trust and performance across diverse teams and stakeholders, thrive in complexity and are ready to lead EPA into a future of environmental excellence.
