The very essence of SHK’s DNA is our dedication not only to being a great people advisory firm, but also a good corporate citizen.

We integrate the principles of social responsibility into everything we do internally and externally by exhibiting the behaviours of good corporate governance and ethical decision making, and by providing our people with opportunities to develop and excel. Underpinning everything we do are our four core values – integrity, excellence, commitment and innovation – which represent the essential spirit of our company, how we see ourselves and how we would like others to see us.

In the very fibre of our firm, it is important for us to:

  • Make a positive contribution to the community

  • Support and respect the protection of human rights

  • Minimize our environmental impact.

SHK is privileged to partner with a range of clients – from not-for-profit organisations, corporations and government bodies to education, healthcare and research institutions – that make an enormous difference everyday both locally and on the global stage.

As SHK seeks to facilitate and inspire extraordinary personal, team and organisational performance in serving our clients and candidates, SHK has channelled its support to organisations focused on ensuring children and young people are not hindered from the chance to achieve their full potential.

SHK is proud to have supported The Alannah and Madeline Foundation for more than a decade in its important mission to keep children safe from violence, and to provide an SHK-branded scholarship through The Pinnacle Foundation, which provides financial assistance and mentoring to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer students who are marginalised or disadvantaged.

While we aim to have a big impact, we also want to have a small impact on the environment. SHK has embedded in its operations a range of initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, from the suppliers we select and the design of our systems and practices, to recycling. And our team includes a trained Al Gore Climate Reality Leader, a masters degree holder in sustainability and corporate environmental management and a widely published environmental science author. We also enjoy partnering with clients in the appointment of senior roles dedicated to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
