About the role
The Chief Operations Officer leads the Operations and Delivery Division. Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for a large statewide team in the delivery of Parks Victoria’s on-ground management of parks, reserves, and designated local ports and waterways - ensuring they remain open and accessible for people to recreate in and enjoy, and the natural and cultural values are protected. As a key member of the Senior Executive Committee, the COO shapes operational strategy, fosters strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, communities, user groups and other stakeholders, and champions a collaborative, place-based approach to service delivery across the state – with park rangers and other frontline staff empowered and supported for success.

You are a seasoned executive with experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams through transformation. You bring a deep understanding of public land management, infrastructure delivery, and stakeholder engagement. You thrive in complex environments, work collaboratively with peers and across the organisation, and are committed to building a high-performing, values-driven culture that supports innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
