About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Finance, the Head of Commercial Finance – Projects is a senior leadership role responsible for driving commercial and financial performance across YJM’s portfolio of infrastructure and Rolling Stock projects. You will work closely with the Projects Leadership Team and key stakeholders to develop strategic financial pipelines, manage commercial risks and opportunities, and drive improvements across contract management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, variation management and claims management. This role will provide strategic input into critical client and supplier negotiations, support supply chain optimisation, and oversee a team responsible for delivering financial analysis, insights, and reporting. A key focus of the role will be applying a commercial focus to the management of variation claims.
About You
You are a high calibre, commercially astute finance leader with a strategic mindset and extensive experience building best practice commercial finance functions, ideally in major project environments within heavy industry, infrastructure, construction, or transport. You bring a strong background in financial, contract and commercial management, outstanding negotiation and influencing skills, and a proven ability to skilfully lead and manage complex stakeholder relationships. With extensive change management and transformation experience, you are driven to demonstrate value and comfortable operating in fast-paced, matrix environments, bringing a strategic, forward-looking approach to financial leadership. Your experience includes building high-performing teams, driving efficiency programs, and engaging confidently with internal and external stakeholders, ideally including government and tier 1 contractors. CA/CPA qualifications essential.
