About the organisation
Developing East Arnhem Limited (DEAL) is a not-for-profit with dual shareholders Rio Tinto and the Northern Territory Government. DEAL facilitates investment and economic growth in East Arnhem, connecting Yolŋu Traditional Owners, businesses, government, and investors. Based in Nhulunbuy, the organisation uniquely drives tourism and marketing for the region to support regional development, enhancing jobs, infrastructure and community strength. As East Arnhem transitions from reliance on Rio Tinto's operations, ending soon, the region gains an exciting infrastructure and economic legacy, paving the way for a sustainable economy and future local employment.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, the newly created position of Head of Marketing and Communications will be accountable for developing, updating and executing a strategic marketing and communication plan for DEAL, aligned to the mission of East Arnhem. The role will lead and oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of an integrated program of initiatives including all facets of marketing and communications. It will build effective networks with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders, that align with the short-, medium- and long-term aspirations for the region.
About you
You have a notable ability to establish trust, promote confidence and collaborate at a grass roots level with organisations, communities, and the broader local ecosystem. Independently driven, self-motivated and with high personal integrity, you demonstrate a willingness and capacity to establish a high level of cultural competency. With proven experience across marketing and communications, including digital platforms and social media content, you have excellent communication skills including with different audiences on complex topics. You are inspired by the potential to make a positive difference and have a spirit for adventure for this impactful opportunity.
