About the role

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, and collaborating with the University Executive, the Vice President, Engagement will provide strategic leadership and expert advice in shaping and executing the University’s engagement strategy. This includes industry engagement, domestic and international student recruitment, communications, marketing, advancement and market intelligence. Inspiring a large team, the appointee will foster an integrated, future-focused approach supporting the University's sustainability and competitiveness and ensure a cohesive institution-wide stakeholder engagement approach aligning with the institution’s mission and strategic objectives. Playing a critical role in enhancing the University’s profile, advancing its strategic priorities, and delivering measurable impact, the role will develop and steward high-value stakeholder relationships including students, alumni, donors, industry partners, government agencies, and the wider community, to position the University as a leading institution of higher education, research and innovation.


About you

Experienced in a similar growth role leading a broad engagement team, you possess a proven ability to build and sustain influential partnerships with executives and stakeholders to shape and implement a global engagement strategy. Your core capabilities include leveraging market intelligence and insights to identify strategic opportunities, form valuable partnerships, and develop innovative products and services. This expertise is further underpinned by your track record in designing and scaling high-impact programs and partnerships, your knowledge of government, robust networks, and experience in leading high-level advocacy, multilateral engagements, stakeholder forums and thought leadership initiatives. Your capability in conceiving and expanding strategic initiatives and exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, is complemented by your ability to foster collaboration, support academic excellence, engage diverse teams and stakeholders, and drive entrepreneurial teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
