BELONGING AND INCLUSION
SHK champions belonging, supporting the creation of not just inclusive work environments, but also a society where everyone feels they truly belong.
We are committed to fostering environments that value and harness the contributions of people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Research shows that workplaces where people feel a sense of belonging and inclusion consistently perform better.
As a people advisory firm, we are acutely aware of our influence on who sits at the executive table in many Australian organisations. We believe that leading the way in advancing belonging and inclusion—within our own business and for our clients—is a vital part of being a responsible corporate citizen.
SHK promotes belonging in the executive search sector and the broader recruitment landscape through active leadership, visible community engagement, and partnerships with clients who embrace and champion inclusive practices.
We also support our clients in building cultures of respect and belonging. Whether or not it is a stated client preference, SHK consistently invests in presenting gender-balanced shortlists. More broadly, SHK has supported the appointment of senior roles dedicated to advancing belonging and inclusion.
Founded on a commitment to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, SHK maintains a broad corporate social responsibility program focused on belonging, alongside initiatives that support disadvantaged and vulnerable members of society.
SHK is proud to be a Gold Partner of the Pinnacle Foundation. In 2018, SHK established an SHK-branded scholarship through the Foundation, offering financial support and mentorship to an LGBTIQ+ student whose personal circumstances would have otherwise made completing university studies extremely challenging.
