ANDREW RICHARDS

Andrew Richards is a Senior Partner at SHK and leads the Senior Executive Legal, Risk, Assurance and Governance Practice.

Andrew is responsible for leading national search assignments in industries including, Financial Services, Digital, Infrastructure/Utilities, Property and Manufacturing/FMCG. Andrew has extensive experience in the appointment of Non-Executive Directors, General Counsel and Company Secretaries, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Compliance Officers and General Managers to some of Australia's leading companies and CEOs to professional services and not for profit organisations. In addition, Andrew enjoys pursuing his passion in education and investment management by undertaking select senior executive appointments in these areas.

Andrew’s experience combines twenty-nine years of executive search with a knowledge base developed during his prior career as an experienced corporate lawyer who has worked in leading law firms and corporates in Melbourne and London. This combination of experience allows Andrew to assist his clients to identify, attract and develop high performing leaders and their teams. Andrew has a reputation as a mentor and trusted advisor who has cultivated a deep network of C-Level executives and Company Directors throughout Australia. At the core of his approach, Andrew believes in the value of candid and honest conversations to assist both clients and candidates to make informed decisions. Andrew thrives in working collaboratively with stakeholders, sharing deep market insights to deliver real value to the decision-making process.

Prior to joining SHK, Andrew led a Legal, Governance and Education practice in a leading global executive search firm. Andrew has strong management experience through being a founding Partner of a national boutique search firm where for 11 years he led a Board, Legal, Risk and Governance practice. Andrew has held board and advisory committee roles for several not-for-profit, member based and community organisations with a particular focus on corporate governance.

Andrew holds Bachelor of Law and Arts degrees from Monash University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New South Wales.
