CHARLIE HESS

Charlie Hess is an Associate Partner within SHK’s executive search practice, focusing on senior industrial and consumer sales appointments, including Sales Director, General Manager, Country Manager and Business Development roles. Charlie will lead this assignment and be the main point of contact.

Charlie has significant experience in leading national and international search assignments, with proven expertise in partnering with C-suite executives, boards and leadership teams to identify business-critical talent. He is known within the Australian market for his deep expertise and commitment to delivering outcomes without compromise. He takes great pleasure in scoping the entire market to find the best talent available while building trusting relationships with candidates and clients alike.

Charlie's extensive search experience spans over seven years, beginning with a global organisation specialising in Project Services. In 2020, he transitioned to the sales sector, where he successfully built the function from the ground up, led a high-performing team, and focused on leadership appointments. In 2024, he joined SHK to focus solely on senior and executive level mandates.

Prior to his career in search, Charlie oversaw commercial engagement for a boutique strategic events firm and was site manager for a global sports, fashion and events company.

Highlights of Charlie’s recent appointments include a Commercial Director for an internationally headquartered consumer goods manufacturer that included a succession timeline to the CEO position, a Director of Sales & Change for a leading landscaping solutions provider, a Head of Sales for a major HVAC and energy efficiency business, and a General Manager of Sales for a water management and infrastructure solutions organisation with a strong dealer and project-based sales model.

Charlie holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from Deakin University.
