  • Audit and compliance across the national tyre supply chain
  • Environmentally aligned product stewardship scheme
  • Supporting a circular economy for end-of-life tyres

About the organisation

Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) is the product stewardship scheme for end-of-life tyres in Australia, operating under a co-regulatory framework to drive responsible tyre recovery and recycling outcomes nationally. TSA works across the full tyre supply chain – from importers and retailers through to collectors and recyclers – to ensure participants meet accreditation requirements and that end-of-life tyres are diverted from landfill. This organisation sits at the intersection of environmental policy, industry regulation, and circular economy practice, making it a meaningful place to build a career in compliance and sustainability.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Accreditation & Compliance, the Audit & Compliance Officer plays a central role in the delivery of TSA's national accreditation and compliance program. The Officer coordinates and executes onsite audits, monitors compliance across the supply chain using data, imagery and external intelligence, and identifies emerging risk and non-compliance trends. Stakeholder engagement is a core dimension of the role, encompassing relationships with retailers, recyclers, collectors, local government and industry partners. The Officer also contributes to the integrity of TSA's data and reporting systems, supporting dashboards, quarterly and annual reviews, and Board or management papers as required. This is a role with genuine breadth – combining investigative rigour, relationship management, and program delivery in a purpose-driven environment.

About you

An interest in sustainability, waste or recycling is valued, though a genuine curiosity and commitment to the sector will serve equally well. Ideally, you bring experience in audit, compliance, regulatory or environmental settings, and are comfortable operating across both field-based and desk-based workstreams. Your analytical instincts are matched by strong communication skills – you engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders and translate complex compliance matters into clear, actionable outcomes. You manage competing priorities with ease, work well independently, and bring a collaborative approach to continuous improvement. Familiarity with Microsoft tools and data systems is important, as is a current driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate. The preferred candidate will be required to complete a police check and pre-employment medical check.
