About the organisation
Lifeline Direct (LLD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lifeline Australia and serves as its direct service delivery arm, providing vital crisis support, mental health and suicide prevention services across a broad geographical footprint. LLD has grown over the past 2 years through expanded Lifeline services and the amalgamation of other providers including On The Line Australia who delivered major counselling services. Today, LLD delivers Lifeline’s 24/7 crisis support via 13 11 14, telehealth services and training, as well as a range of national and local mental health programs including MensLine Australia, Suicide Call Back Service, and SuicideLine Victoria.
About the role
The Board of LLD is now seeking to appoint a Board Director to build upon the significant work and success of the current team and provide critical governance oversight shaping the future of the mental health landscape in Australia. LLD leads advocacy, innovation and the delivery of world class services through service coordination and the evolution of the platform and technologies.
LLD seeks to appoint a Board Director with either expertise in digital and data governance, or mental health to fill a vacant position and complement the skill set of the board.
About you
You are an experienced, values-driven professional with deep expertise in one of the following areas:
- Digital Strategy & Data Governance – Proven experience in digital technologies, information management, privacy, and cyber security within service delivery contexts. You may have led technology-enabled transformation, championed data privacy, or managed cyber risk to enhance service quality and safety.
- Mental Health – Either a qualified clinician or a leader with significant experience in regulated mental health settings. You bring strong clinical or operational expertise, underpinned by a deep understanding of clinical governance and the unique requirements of regulated environments.
You bring governance expertise, strategic insight, sound judgement and a commitment to improving outcomes for help seekers. You are collaborative, purpose-led, and ready to contribute to a high-performing, skills-based Board committed to LLD’s mission.
