About the organisation
No to Violence works to eliminate men’s use of family violence in Australia. For over 30 years the organisation has worked directly with men who use family violence, developing expertise that informs standards, programs, training and policy development. As the national peak body for organisations committed to ending men family violence, No to Violence also provides telephone counselling, information and referrals across Australia. This is a pro-feminist organisation where the safety and wellbeing of women and children are at the centre of all its work.
About the roles
Board directors are the custodians of the organisation, responsible for driving strategy and providing governance oversight appropriate to its purpose and vision. Working with the CEO and the executive team, the Board advances the organisation’s strategic objectives and ensures its resources are managed effectively. No to Violence is currently seeking to strengthen its Board with at least two directors (members) who have specific expertise, including a senior finance leader to chair the Finance & Audit Committee, and a director with considerable practice knowledge from a specialist men's behaviour change member organisation. Applications are particularly welcome from First Nations people with broad experience in the area, or professionals with lived skills in policy, fundraising and business development, or ICT strategy and cybersecurity governance, who also have clear alignment to the operating context and mission of the organisation.
About you
You may be a senior finance leader with experience in financial and investment governance, risk management, and the complexities of government grant funding. Alternatively, you are a respected professional from a specialist men's behaviour change service, bringing deep practitioner insight, including clinical risk management and sector knowledge to board deliberations. In all cases, you understand the fiduciary and legal duties of a Board director, and contribute constructively to strategic decision making. You are inspired to assist No to Violence achieve its objectives of ending male family violence, for the long-term benefit of all.
