About the role
The Business Manager - Telecommunications reports directly to the Managing Director and is a critical appointment as the organisation expands its product portfolio. The role carries responsibility for the carrier channel portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, with a primary focus on sustaining and growing revenue within major carrier accounts which represent the dominant share of current telecommunications revenue. The Business Manager will be the principal point of contact for carrier channel partners, retail partners and will be accountable for developing and executing channel strategies designed to deliver sustainable, long-term sales growth. This includes building and managing account plans aligned to market share objectives, identifying appropriate products from the device portfolio to meet customer needs, and positioning the brand effectively within retail environments. The role works closely with internal teams across marketing, product and service functions, providing significant day-to-day influence over these resources in service of channel strategy and commercial outcomes. As the telecommunications business scales, the Business Manager will also assume direct management responsibility for additional sales resources, building and leading a national sales team over time.
About you
You are an experienced commercial leader with a background in consumer electronics or telecommunications, and a strong working knowledge of carrier channel dynamics in the Australian market. Your existing relationships within key major telecommunication clients are well-established and substantive, with Telstra in particular. You understand the purchasing channel requirements, internal decision-making structures, and the commercial levers that drive sell-in and sell-out performance within those accounts. You bring demonstrated capability in developing and executing account plans and business development strategies that translate into measurable revenue and volume growth. You are comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy, building cross-functional alignment internally while managing complex external relationships at multiple levels of seniority. Organised, proactive, and commercially driven, you possess the interpersonal confidence to represent the brand credibly and build strong partnerships with new and existing channel partners. An interest in and aptitude for building and leading a team will be important as the function grows.
