The National Nutrition Foundation (NNF) is an independent registered charity with a 45-year legacy dedicated to improving the nutritional wellbeing of Australians. Following a period of establishment and renewal, NNF has built strong foundations and is now entering a phase of growth and transformation. The organisation advocates for evidence-based nutrition policy, delivers education initiatives, and contributes to national dialogue on nutrition, health and sustainable food systems. With increasing momentum, NNF is positioned to become a leading national voice shaping healthier, more equitable and sustainable food outcomes for all Australians.
About the role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides strategic, operational and commercial leadership to guide NNF through its next phase of growth. The CEO is accountable for overall organisational performance and growth, including strategy execution, financial sustainability and revenue diversification, operational excellence, governance and risk management, and people leadership. Leading stakeholder engagement, partnerships and public advocacy, the CEO is the organisation’s principal representative, and a credible, authoritative voice in nutrition and sustainable food systems, aligned to Board-endorsed priorities.
About you
You are a strategically minded and commercially astute chief executive or senior leader with a proven ability to grow purpose-driven organisations ideally in the public health, nutrition, food systems or adjacent sectors. An effective driver of change and transformation, you combine clear strategic thinking with disciplined execution, build high-performance and financially sustainable organisations, and operate confidently at Board level with strong governance and accountability. Recognised for your political and commercial acumen, you navigate public, private and not-for-profit environments effectively. A credible and influential communicator, you deliver sustainable, long-term impact, and build strong partnerships across government, industry, academia, NGOs and the media, while leading inclusive, values-driven cultures that balance high-performance with wellbeing.
