About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer – Home and Community Care is accountable for the overall performance and alignment of a large, geographically distributed service portfolio. This critical enterprise leadership role oversees end-to-end performance across Home and Community Care, providing leadership to senior directors across a dispersed footprint while ensuring high standards of service quality, regulatory compliance and workforce performance. The role also carries responsibility for financial outcomes, including driving sustainable growth and maintaining margin discipline. During a period of ongoing sector reform, the Chief Operating Officer focuses on translating strategy into consistent operational delivery, evolving service models in response to policy and funding changes, embedding strong performance discipline and data-informed decision-making, and strengthening consistency and integration across services. Additionally, the role is responsible for identifying and capitalising on growth opportunities aligned with sector reform, shifting demand and emerging models of care. Beyond internal leadership, the position represents Uniting AgeWell externally, contributing to sector engagement and fostering stakeholder confidence.
About you
You are an accomplished executive with a proven track record of delivering strong performance in complex, service-led and regulated environments. You bring demonstrated capability in translating strategy into consistent operational outcomes, coupled with sound commercial judgement that balances quality, access and long-term sustainability. Your experience includes leading large, geographically dispersed teams and operating effectively at an enterprise level, with particular expertise in-home and community care. A pragmatic, credible and trusted leader, you build confidence through clarity, effective decision-making and engagement at both executive and Board level.
