About the organisation

Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is committed to the mission of Catholic education across the Diocese. With a rich history dating back to 1853, the Diocese reaches from central to northwest Victoria. CESL supports more than 3000 employees in just under 60 schools and early childhood facilities. At the heart of the Diocese’s mission is a commitment to having their schools fully engaged in realising the human potential inspired by the Catholic story.

About the role

As a key new member of the senior executive leadership team, the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of CESL’s enterprise risk management framework. The CRO will ensure that all strategic, operational, financial, and compliance current, emerging and future risks are identified, assessed, measured, and effectively mitigated in alignment with CESL’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. The CRO will further support the work of Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education and Care Limited (SCECE&C), working closely with the Chief Early Childhood Officer to ensure that risk management practices are embedded across all early learning services.

About you

As an accomplished and strategic risk leader, you have significant experience, which ensures your credibility as a trusted adviser. You are well versed in all dimensions and facets of the governance, risk and compliance functions, and bring multi-faceted systems-thinking to this critical leadership role. Values-aligned to the mission of Catholic education, you recognise this role as both a potential ‘tree change’, and a significant opportunity to develop and lead a commercially astute and proactive team in a complex and highly regulated environment.
