About the role

Reporting to the Vice President (Advancement), and leading an alumni team, the Director, Alumni Engagement is a key member of the Advancement leadership team. The Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the implementation of the university’s alumni engagement and community fundraising objectives. This includes identifying and leveraging philanthropic and other strategic initiatives on a national and international scale. The Director will manage a portfolio of key alumni relationships, lead community fundraising campaigns for initiatives such as scholarships, and collaborate closely with the university’s executive and academic groups. Leading a dedicated team, this position will also manage the alumni engagement and campaign fundraising budget.


About you

You are a senior leader with substantial experience in alumni management or large-scale stakeholder engagement, with experience in higher education preferred, or relevant membership organisations. Your expertise lies in developing and executing strategies that advance an organisation’s objectives by engaging a large and diverse community. You are skilled in identifying philanthropic opportunities and managing relationships with influential stakeholders. An experienced people leader, you have the ability to manage budgets, mentor staff, and provide strategic input as part of a collaborative leadership team. Your capacity to operate effectively within a complex environment and engage with senior internal and external stakeholders is essential. Most importantly, you are inspired to make a positive impact.
