About the role

The Director, Strategic Contract & Performance is a 36-month fixed-term role reporting jointly to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Information Officer. The role holds end-to-end accountability for commercial strategy, financial governance and contractual oversight of a major enterprise-wide digital transformation program, including all vendor and implementation partner arrangements. Responsibilities include active management of services and licensing contracts, program financial forecasting and expenditure tracking, monitoring performance against SLAs, and applying commercial levers such as milestone and outcome-based payments. Acting as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, the role leads procurement and negotiation processes and maintains governance frameworks that enable effective executive and Board oversight. Working closely with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Digital Services and program leadership, the role ensures vendor activity remains aligned to program objectives and delivers tangible business value.

About you

You are an experienced leader in enterprise program and commercial contracting with a proven track record in managing complex, high-value contracts within large-scale enterprise or digital transformation programs, ideally in regulated or mission-critical environments. Highly commercial and tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline, you bring strong expertise in contract negotiation, commercial risk management and dispute resolution, underpinned by a solid understanding of modern commercial models, including milestone and outcome-based arrangements. You have worked closely with system integrators, implementation partners and major vendors, and are skilled at translating technical, delivery and program risks into clear commercial and contractual implications. You bring strong experience establishing governance frameworks, performance reporting and assurance mechanisms, and proactively managing risk to ensure delivery outcomes are achieved. A confident communicator, you engage effectively with executive stakeholders while maintaining strong commercial discipline and accountability. You are collaborative, adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and ensure commercial arrangements deliver measurable value and support strategic objectives.
