About the role
This is a rare opportunity to bring your commercial finance leadership experience to a high-growth platform combining institutional capital with meaningful social impact. You will play a central role in shaping financial strategy and supporting the continued expansion of a market-leading housing business. Reporting to the new Group Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Commercial Finance is a key leadership role at the centre of Assemble’s growth agenda. You will lead the commercial finance function, partnering closely with Investment, Development and Operations to drive performance and inform decision-making across the asset lifecycle.
The role spans investment analysis, portfolio performance, funding and capital structuring, alongside oversight of modelling, forecasting, valuations and investor outcomes within a structured environment. You will operate as a trusted advisor to the executive, while building capability within the team and ensuring systems and processes scale in line with institutional expectations.
About you
You are a highly skilled commercial finance leader with substantial experience leading analytical and business partnering teams in complex, capital-intensive environments. Your background may include property development, construction, infrastructure, funds management or adjacent sectors, with a strong foundation in commercial finance, FP&A or investment analysis.
You bring advanced modelling capability, sound commercial judgement and a track record of influencing senior stakeholders. You are comfortable navigating complexity, distilling insights and contributing at a strategic level, while remaining close enough to the detail to add value. Your style is pragmatic, low ego and collaborative, with the credibility to engage across executive, board and investor stakeholders. Prior exposure to institutional environments or structured vehicles is advantageous, but not essential.
