About the organisation

.au Domain Administration Limited (auDA) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Australian internet community to oversee the operation and management framework of the trusted top-level .au domain. auDA is endorsed by the Commonwealth Government to ensure that the .au domain, a critical national infrastructure asset, is an open, secure, accessible and trusted Australian public asset for all internet users.


About the roles

Three remunerated non-executive director appointments are being made to complement the auDA Board. Meeting around six times a year and led by an independent Chair, the Board is responsible for the oversight of the overall direction, management and corporate governance of the organisation. This includes setting and reviewing auDA’s strategy and priorities, approving budgets and monitoring performance, ensuring effective risk and ESG governance, and stewardship of policies for the administration of the .au domain. Operating in a multi-stakeholder environment, the Board also plays a role in maintaining key relationships, including with government and the international internet ecosystem. All auDA directors serve on one or more Board Committees.


About you

A highly respected leader hailing from an aligned sector, business or government, you present with substantial expertise in one or more of the following areas: governance, relevant industry policy and regulation, domain name and security technical knowledge, and stakeholder relations. Previous board experience or exposure to strategic AI will be well regarded. Curious, agile, innovative and with high EQ and integrity, you have a demonstrated public benefit ethos. Collegiate and committed to best-practice governance, you contribute to honest and robust discussions and debate in a courteous and respectful manner.
