About the organisation

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a statutory organisation established under the Transport Accident Act 1986. The TAC administers a no-fault compensation scheme for people injured or killed in transport accidents, promoting road safety and supporting injured Victorians to rebuild their lives. The TAC operates with a clear public purpose, balancing commercial discipline with a strong commitment to client outcomes and community benefit. This organisation is headquartered in Geelong and sits within a broader framework of Victorian Government accountability.

About the role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Enterprise Transformation, the Program Director leads the TAC's multi-year Digital Claims Platform Program – a large-scale initiative to replace the organisation's core claims platform and migrate data, business functions, and processes to modern digital environments. The Program Director will direct a multi-vendor delivery team, including program managers and stream leads, and will manage a significant program budget. The role requires close collaboration with business leaders to redesign and automate claims processes, while maintaining alignment between technical, data, and operational teams. The Program Director is also responsible for risk and issue management, governance reporting to executive and committee stakeholders, and representing the TAC with external vendors and government partners. Supporting the broader cultural shift toward agile and data-driven ways of working is a further expectation of the role.

About you

You are a senior program leader with significant experience delivering large-scale digital or technology transformation programs in insurance, compensation, or related service sectors. Your background includes platform replacements and data migration at enterprise scale, and you have directly managed complex, multi-vendor programs with sizeable budgets. You bring strong financial and commercial acumen alongside the communication and influencing skills required to engage credibly at executive level. Experience navigating complex governance structures within government, statutory, or highly regulated environments is highly regarded, while a tertiary qualification in business, technology, or a related discipline is expected, and certification in program or project management such as MSP, PMI-PgMP, or equivalent is preferred. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, making sound decisions under pressure, and building cohesive, collaborative delivery cultures across diverse teams.

We highly encourage applications from talent based in, or looking to relocate to, the Geelong region. As the TAC is an inclusive employer, we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
