As the founder of SHK’s Outplacement & Career Transition practice, Alan is regarded as one Australia’s leading outplacement experts. He has spent more than 26 years in the industry during which he has worked across all major sectors and has managed many of Australia’s largest restructures. With deep experience in all aspects of career transition, he is known for providing insightful strategic advice to management teams and boards, designing creative approaches to complicated downsizings, supporting human resources teams through restructures, and personally delivering career advice and guidance to senior executives.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Monash University. His early career was with Shell where he held various senior petrochemical roles. He then moved into the human resources area as Director of Human Resources for a large US graphics company.
