Brian leads SHK’s Chief Information Officer and senior technology appointments executive search practice.
Brian appoints Chief Information Officers and their direct reports. In addition to his technology specialty, he also undertakes select senior executive leadership appointments.
Brian offers over 30 years’ executive search experience. Working across all industry sectors, he has partnered with major ASX-listed corporations, private companies and not-for-profit organisations.
Having worked with technologists from the commencement of his career, Brian brings a depth of hands-on experience to his executive search practice. He has cultivated an extensive professional network of technology executives across a diversity of sectors.
Brian enjoys long-standing partnerships with many of his clients. They appreciate the depth of his expertise and knowledge, and the effort he expends in understanding their business from both an operational and cultural perspective. Brian prides himself on taking a comprehensive brief from his clients, adding value by providing insights that inform the position description. He applies a diversity lens to all his short lists, recognising the value that diversity of thought and experience bring to an organisation. In a discipline with long-standing structural and gender balance issues, Brian has cultivated relationships with both high-profile and up-and-coming female technology practitioners.
Brian recognises the value he can provide in having 'sounding board' conversations with both his clients and candidates about their careers. In offering advice and guidance to his candidates in the management of their career, he has assisted many to progress and be promoted to senior leadership roles.
Brian relishes the intellectual challenge of working with clients who are dealing with complexity and sector change. He particularly enjoys working with clients who recognise the transformative role technology plays in delivering an impactful employee and customer experience.
