The Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) is a visionary initiative from three of Victoria’s leading institutions — the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (The Doherty Institute), the Burnet Institute for Medical Research and Public Health (The Burnet Institute), and the University of Melbourne. With backing from the Victorian Government as the Major Supporting Partner, the AIID is designed to protect Australia and the region against infectious disease and future pandemics.
About the role
The Deputy Director, Head of Fundraising for the Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) is a senior role within University of Melbourne Advancement, working closely with the AIID Foundation Partners - University of Melbourne, The Doherty Institute and the Burnet Institute. Reporting to the Director of Advancement (MDHS), with dotted line reporting to the Executive General Manager, Philanthropy & Supporter Engagement (Burnet Institute), this position will play an important leadership role in driving the AIID philanthropic campaign, an exciting and timely new initiative harnessing Victoria’s world-leading research excellence in infectious disease. With support from the Vice President (Advancement), and significant funding secured, the appointee will hold responsibility for the strategic development of the AIID comprehensive Capital Campaign, working in partnership with The University, Doherty and Burnet Institutes.
About you
You are a deeply experienced and highly respected principal and major gift philanthropic professional with a track record of leading integrated advancement programs. Underpinning your knowledge of the development of Capital Campaigns, systems and models, are your superior relationship building skills, high emotional intelligence and ability provide high level, effective leadership and direction to staff inside and outside direct line management, including working with executive and volunteer leaders.
