The Suburban Rail Loop is a city and state-shaping project that will transform Victoria’s public transport system, connecting Melbourne’s suburbs and creating opportunities in great places. The 90-kilometre Suburban Rail Loop will link every major rail line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line via the airport – better connecting Victorians and triggering investment and renewal in the neighbourhoods associated with new stations. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is responsible for all aspects of the project, including planning and development of the reference design, investment case, site investigations, stakeholder engagement, planning approvals and procurement, through to precinct planning, construction delivery and project commissioning.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the primary purpose of the Executive Director, People and Culture role is to develop and execute a high-impact people strategy that will support the operational and strategic direction of SRLA. Working closely with all members of the executive leadership team, the appointee will deliver high-quality, strategic advice on all people-related matters, and lead a superior people and culture function aligned with the ambitions of the organisation. Critical to success in this role will be the appointee’s ability to develop initiatives that foster a positive, high-performing workplace and strengthen the employee experience across all levels of SRLA.
About you
You are an accomplished human resources executive, with a strategic mindset and deep experience leading a high-quality human resources function in a complex organisation – ideally in infrastructure, construction and/or government. Inspired by the vision and purpose of SRLA, your well-rounded skillset across strategic and operational priorities is underpinned by your systems-thinking approach to quickly understand the operating landscape, enabling you to ‘hit the ground running’. An exceptional generalist, you have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to engage at all levels. You are well-versed in employee relations matters, with a focus on identifying practical solutions. Leverage your passion for optimising organisational culture to support the delivery of superior outcomes across a multi-billion infrastructure delivery program.
