About the organisation
The Victorian Inspectorate (VI) is the key oversight body in Victoria’s integrity system. The VI is an independent body, not subject to direction or control by executive government. Its vision is to strengthen public trust in Victoria’s integrity, accountability and investigatory bodies through effective oversight, including monitoring the use of coercive powers.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director Legal and Integrity (Cathy Cato) and working with the Inspector (Eamonn Moran PSM QC), the General Manager, Integrity Operations and Policy will have two direct manager-level reports who each leads a multi-disciplinary team – investigations and complaints team and the monitoring and inspections team – to deliver the VI’s functions through the framework of the VI’s Operations Model and in line with the VI’s Integrity Response Guidelines. With a broad remit, this position is responsible for both managing individual integrity matters to a high standard and providing high level operational, strategic and policy leadership with a focus on actively identifying areas of risk and opportunities for systemic improvements within the VI and across the Victorian integrity system.
About you
To succeed in this role you will have demonstrated experience in strategic leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, combined with advanced analytical and critical writing skills and legislative interpretation experience within government in a regulatory, integrity or law enforcement context. The ideal candidate will also have a track record in delivering authoritative and expert advice in a complex and sensitive environment and have excellent people, communication and stakeholder management skills.
