About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Smart and Sustainable Infrastructure is an integral part of Barwon Water’s executive leadership team. The role is responsible for the leadership and management of Barwon Water’s Infrastructure Operations, Strategic Asset Management, and Circular Economy departments, ensuring Barwon Water operates in a manner that is safe, efficient and sustainable. This includes development and delivery of Barwon Water’s innovative commercial activities within the circular economy, as well as ensuring Barwon Water’s assets are developed, maintained and operated in a manner that will continue to meet the many evolving challenges of our rapidly changing world.
About you
As a senior leader with extensive experience within one or more complex, asset-intensive sectors, you have deep expertise in how to ensure strategic and operational objectives are balanced in a way that allows an organisation to grow and adapt while meeting the highest possible standards of service, reliability and safety. A natural leader with a strong service ethos, you have the ability to engage credibly across all levels of an organisation, from front line field staff to Board level, as well as with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Commercially-minded with the ability to see beyond traditional sectoral constraints, you are energised by the opportunity to join an organisation that is embracing emerging opportunities that cut across the water, energy, and waste markets.
