The Funds will model the internationally proven approach of embedding venture capital capability into the heart of the University, translating discoveries into products and services that benefit society.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director University Melbourne Commercial (UMC), with a dotted line to the Director Strategic Communications, this leadership position will deliver outcomes through integrated communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. The role will manage reputational risk and provide strategic counsel to the UMC Board and leadership team, and the University’s Research, Innovation and Commercialisation leadership, working closely with the MEC leadership and funds investment teams. Engaging widely with stakeholders and delivering major communication strategies, the appointee will drive success of the programs and funds and enhance and protect the University’s reputation. The role will oversee integrated communications programs and increase awareness and advocacy around investment pipeline growth and researcher and community engagement.
About you
You are a well-rounded strategic communications executive with experience in research commercialisation, funds spin out or other venture capital industries. You have a significant track record in providing best practice strategic communications advice and senior executive support in large complex organisations and their partners, including industry and Government. Your demonstrated skills in internal and external communications, including issues management, and traditional and digital media, are underpinned by your collaborative stakeholder management, deep knowledge of digital media platforms, focus on delivering business outcomes and passion for this ground-breaking opportunity.
