About the Organisation
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is the national organisation responsible for implementing the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (Scheme) for registered health practitioners across Australia in partnership with the 15 National Boards. Guided by a nationally consistent law, Ahpra and the National Boards work to regulate across 16 different health professions (approximately 900,000 practitioners) to ensure patient safety and improve health regulation. Ahpra is guided by its values of integrity, respect, collaboration and achievement to build community trust and confidence in regulated health practitioners. As a risk-based regulator, Ahpra balances the roles of protecting public safety and supporting a safe and professional health workforce for Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director Finance and Risk, the National Director – Finance is responsible for finance business partnering operations, strategic investment advice, financial plans and digital evolution. The role purpose is to elevate the team brand, provide trusted information, enable technology, and influence decision making for the Scheme’s success. A visionary leader, the National Director – Finance leads a team of finance professionals to develop and deliver the business client strategy, synthesize and disseminate relevant financial, commercial and statistical information to broader groups and provide authoritative advice on budgets, fee setting and key business initiatives.
About You
A trusted professional and authentic leader, you have extensive experience in a senior finance role ideally in a regulatory, government or member organisation. You are results oriented and have deep expertise in developing and delivering strategic outcomes to enhance service standards and performance. With a curious mindset and excellent data analytical skills, you can articulate and present complex data confidently to Boards and senior stakeholders. You have a track record in successful, enterprise-wide project management particularly technology optimisation, and diligently apply appropriate governance and risk management practices. Purpose led, you inspire and motivate highly engaged teams to create value and foster a continuous improvement culture and are passionate about delivering enhanced outcomes to health regulation and reform.
