About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a critical member of the executive team, the Chief Data & Technology Officer (CDTO) will define and articulate how technology and data delivers the Bank’s strategic vision to enable its future. Leading a high-performing team, the CDTO will develop a roadmap to align the Bank’s technology and data maturity with its strategic aspirations. The role will enable the organisation to deliver on the promise of what it means to be different for members and drive a sustainable business model. Collaborating with executive colleagues and the Board, the CDTO will translate the Bank’s strategic goals into the technical landscape, and vice versa. They will drive how the data and technology function effectively partners with the business, and in service of stakeholders, making the Bank’s vision a reality, and delivering innovative and meaningful member experiences.
About you
You are a low-ego, cutting-edge data and technology leader, with a track record driving a transformational agenda that defines future state. You possess experience in the neo bank/fintech sectors, or similar start-ups, with banking experience preferred. You understand current-state technology, and can navigate towards a strategic technology landscape view across enterprise systems, banking operations and front-end member services. Demonstrating that organisational controls are in place, you instil a primary lens of ‘in the best interest of members’. You are highly adaptable, with a strategic orientation that allows you to engage with the CEO, Board and external partners while working with the tech team to achieve fast paced outcomes. With a good sense of humour, you take your work seriously but not yourself – laughter in the office is Bank First’s favourite kind of noise!
